I aint up to date on teh news, but there's a big stat revamp coming, if it has not arrived already, that's going to change a lot of things. Bad time to be asking about classes, imo. Antalo View Profile View Posts. Try - Earth,Munitions or Rage all 3 are well liked though they are subject to change in the coming months due to as owedevil said stat revamp.
Lynx View Profile View Posts. Stats Revamp isn't coming anytime soon not until the next DLC, at leastit's not even half-way done yet. Mental, Gadgets and Ice are golden trinity right now. First two are good trolls no match for Quantum troll, though and Ice is extremely easy to use as both dps and tank. Sorcery and Earth are incredibly powerful because of their pets. Munitions is almost as powerful as Ice, but can win only because of supercharged Biggun, also a nice trolling.

Ice is pure turtle tank, though.View Staff Posts Post Reply. Expect half of the showcased DPS on a 20ex budget so sec Minotaur kill. Survability is not really gear dependant with this build - you can do T16s on a Tabula and 50c gear at leaguestart, just being a bit careful with map mods. Chaos value looks like pretty much unchanged however, so that should not affect the time required to farm those upgrades.
Flicker strike targets stuff for you, just hold your key down to the end of the map! Will facetank bosses, metamorphs, and survive jumps in packs of 30 porcupines in 4 damage mods maps. I did not try to artificially inflate the DPS at the expense of defenses - The build balances clear speed, defenses and single target DPS to carry you through juiced up map content at lightning speed. First thing you should do before rolling this character is to check if gameplay suits you : try it out with a 4L on low lvl mobs acts.
You will have to manually avoid those. The hardest fights in the game Sirus, Uber Elder. That said, you'll still be able to facetank and destroy within seconds map bosses, conquerors and guardians without any gem swap, so it's not that bad.
With only the starter gear, you'll need sec to kill T16 map bosses. With the 20ex gear, most will go down in less than 10sec.
Build budget and requirements - Read first! The build is a fire damage melee build based on the Oro's Sacrifice unique sword and the Impresence fire amulet, which are the only required uniques:. Immortal Call instead of Steelskin works fine too, just check you are ramping-up end charges quickly enough to be worth it.
If you feel comfortable enough, you can ditch it to fit a Portal or an Enlighten gem.
WoW DPS Rankings / Tier List - Classic WoW
Instant Warcry: Infernal Cry Put it on your left mouse button so you'll activate it every off cooldown when you move, without having to press an extra button. If you have an extra gem slot, you can link it with Second Wind to reduce its cooldown. How does it work? Main link : Flicker Strike Spoiler. If you feel lost on which is currently the best for daily use, or simply just the best for you this guide is what you need.
Our ranking will be based on personal experience from the writer that's me of:. This tier list will not be based on usage during new raids and savage content as we might write a dedicated endgame tier list in the future! Samurai is a melee dps working around two gauges: the Sen and the Kenki.
The Sen is a three-part gauge filled by using specific combos and will allow you to unleash special attacks according to which Sen you have.
Samurai is quite easy to pick-up as the rotation is quite clear and the animations are really great. A very good class to start playing as a dps with a lot of glamour options and a few positionals to keep things interesting.
I didn't plan on putting Summoner so high in the Tier List, but there's a significant point: the level of your Summoner and Scholar is sharedmeaning if you level up your scholar to lvl 60 and then want to become a DPS, hey, your Summoner is 60 too.
The rotation of Summoner is quite long and can be difficult to remember or execute correctly while dodging two hundred AOEs and resurrecting your dead Dragoon. The class is rewarding, mobile and deals a lot of damage so it's quite satisfying if you can execute correctly, training makes perfect Iguess!
Black Mage is focused on managing your mana the best you can to unleash devastating spells at the cost of mobility. Perfect class to shout "Healer Adjust" to your party, you'll need to stay put to cast your long spells.
Your ice spells will give you mana back while your fire spells will cost a lot of it but will be very effective. Overall Black Mage is a very fun job to play, the explosions are as satisfying as powerful and you have different options to chose from in dungeons and trials. You have access to spells that can buff your party and dances that will provide damage upgrades to your dance partner.
This doesn't mean that you don't deal damage at all, Dancer has two types of rotations, on close-range and one long-range. Your dps is not really in the highest tier, but if get procs you can manage to deals surprising high damage. Dancer is a very good job to start dpsing and even more if you're used to playing healer as you will have quite a lot of utility spells. Machinist is a more classic ranged dps.
You'll have access to a large number of attacks and even if your first AOEs are acquired after a while the job is just great. The animation looks very fluid, you can shoot and walk at the same time and some hard-hitting spells like the Drill are just way too fun.
Once you get your big robot and few last spells the rotation get even better. It's just a very nice and chill job. Bard also is quite a support dps, meaning that on top dealing damage you'll be able to help your team deal more damage. Bard has three songs that you can use applying differents buffs to your team and granting you access to powerful attacks. You can move while attacking, boost the team speed just like Dancer and Machinist as well as use instruments to play music in capital cities of the game.
While Bard damage can feel a bit frustrating it is still a very accessible job that will let you relax and help your team. Dragoon is a job using jumps to deal a lot of damage or reposition during a fight. The main problem of the job is not its damage at all, as it is quite high it's that you can be killed during a jump. You might as well jump off the arena, directly in an AOE, or just not being able to jump at all.
In fact, you obtain your first jump at level 30, and the more you level-up the more jumps you get. Dragoon really comes online around level 80 meaning that when you get into a low-level dungeon in your roulettes you'll be stuck with a lot less funny class. On the other hand, when playing lvl 70 and higher dungeons or content in general, Dragoon is a really fun class that deals a lot of damage but needs a bit of practice to get the jumps right.
Monk is not that low in the Tier List because of its damage or because it is not a fun job, but because it can be quite hard to start playing it before being used to FFXIV mechanics. Monk deals a lot of damage, feels really good to play when you get to know how the combo works as the class focus on striking fast and hard. You'll be able to fill a gauge that augments your attack speed making you go lightning fast before you can start firing energy beams.
A really rewarding class if you get to master it, but you'll need to sit and give it time, as it is not really an easy job for a beginner. A lot of your attacks need to be used in very specific angles and that means, knowing what the boss will do to avoid attacks. Ninja focus on using Mudras to cast Ninjutsu. The large panel of Ninjutsu be it damage, AOEs, defense break or team utility is what makes Ninja kind of difficult job to master or even to get to understand. We check this data every day and make sure that it is accurate and up to date.
There are also Healer Rankings and Tank Rankings on our site, just in case you are interested. The data shown here is backed by actual numbers from many reliable sources such as Simulationcraft and Warcraft Logs. You can judge for yourself by exploring our chart above. Generally speaking, if you are looking to maximize your damage output, the Top 5 specs would be a safe choice indeed. But please do not be discouraged if your class or spec of preference is ranked lower at the moment - at the end of the day the most important thing is whether you enjoy the playstyle or not.
We know perfectly well that outdated data is useless. That is why we check these numbers every single day to verify that it is up to date and then we update it the moment anything changes. You can see the dates of both events at the top of this page.
They are based on both. And even more than that. Our process involves running thousands of simulations with Simulationcraft an open-source tool that models class mechanics to estimate damage-per-second performance in different situations and also using tools like Bloodmallet and Raidbots to research various gear combinations. Then we compare our results to the data retrieved from actual in-game logs of the best players of each class for this purpose we look up global leaderboards on sites like Raider.
By combining both theoretical and statistical data we aim to prevent variance due to human factors e. We also constantly monitor player communities like Icy Veins, Wowhead, Reddit, Method and official Blizzard World of Warcraft Forums to keep in touch with public opinion so we can tell if our data is correct.

At the higher end of gameplay, players will even try to raise their DPS for competitive per-fight rankings on websites such as fflogs. This article will give you a basic idea of what the highest theoretical DPS is. As such, saying that any one DPS class is absolutely better than any other should be taken with a few grains of salt.
That means that not only do your own attacks matter, but so do your skills and abilities that help others do their best, too. It even brings party-wide synergy in the damage-boosting ability Devotion, which is a fair improvement over fellow caster class Black Mage.
The difference between a good Samurai and a great one, then, is knowing when to use your biggest attacks at the best possible times for maximum damage, according to the synergy provided by your teammates.
Samurai has no synergy to offer a team in return other than the damage it deals, however, so if you choose to play this class, be prepared to bring that heat. Owing to stiff movement since the days of the Heavensward expansion, Black Mage is often regarded as an uncompromising class. This reputation can be deceiving, however, as Black Mage nevertheless has a variety of abilities available that facilitate quick movement, such as Triplecast and Aetherial Manipulation.
The Ninja class received a significant boost in Patch 5. Besides that, it had received a tremendous overall potency boost by the development team to many of its attacks; as such, a good Ninja player can give even better Samurai players a run for their money. The ability Ten Chi Jin — necessary for higher-end gameplay and for putting out that aforementioned high DPS — remains one of the clunkiest abilities in the entire game, and can take a while to get used to using efficiently.
Ninja brings all that to the table, and more. Once upon a time, Red Mage was viewed as a relatively weaker DPS class that was better utilized for its party synergy while raiding — specifically, its ability to resurrect two fallen members of a party in quick succession thanks to its native Dualcast trait, when combined with the role ability Swiftcast.
As it happens, not being dead is an overall rDPS increase! By rights, Monk should be as heavy-hitting on individual DPS as any of its fellow melee DPS classes, but poor design and skill implementation has held it back over the last few years.
And much like Summoner, a Monk can be prone to having to restart their entire rotation from scratch due to an untimely death, although Monk is far quicker to get back on its feet on account of having an easier rotation. This rework should hopefully be implemented in Patch 5. Like with Ninja before it, the changes could be drastic and very positive.
Dragoon was the king of the hill as far as individual DPS was concerned back in Stormblood. That said, Dragoon suffers from slightly lower attack potencies compared to most other DPS classes, but it makes up for this with excellent party synergy in the abilities Battle Litany and Dragon Sight. Machinist got a significant rework for Shadowbringers that made it significantly more enjoyable to play, especially compared to its clunky and needlessly complicated pre-expansion rotation.
This DPS class has a lot more flavor to it now, with flashy attacks like Bioblaster and the hard-hitting Drill. Unfortunately, as we approach the end of this list, you might notice something interesting: the three DPS classes with the lowest current theoretical individual DPS are all ranged physical classes.
These classes were designed more with party synergy in mind over their individual DPS strength, but unlike Dancer and Bard, all Machinist really has for that at the moment is its Tactician ability, which reduces party-wide damage taken for a short time.
The important thing to know about the new Dancer class, introduced with Shadowbringers, is that high individual DPS was never the goal of the class from the onset. Between the damage-reducing Troubadour, the DPS buff Battle Voice, and the ability to remove a debuff from a party member even ahead of when it hits!
Each of its songs confer small party-wide buffs, as well. All rights reserved. Older Posts. Latest Posts. Each day we check the data to verify it is accurate and up to date. We rank Tanks by their overall performance and survivability in Raids.
Current statistics from many reputable sources, which include Warcraft Logs and Simulationcraft, support the information displayed here. Although these metrics have always been rather general trends than the rule of thumb, you can still use them to understand who is the Top Tank in WoW right now. You can decide for yourself by looking at the list above. In general, the Top 3 Classes should be a reasonable choice if you're looking for optimal Tanking performance.
But don't be disappointed if at this stage your class isn't high-ranking — if you know what you're doing you will succeed with any class. We are well aware that there is no use for outdated information. So that is why we monitor these numbers extensively every day just to make sure they're precise and we always adjust them if anything changes.
You can see the dates of both events right at the top of this page. These are based on both of those. And even more.
Our approach involves running thousands of simulations with Simulationcraft an open-source tool that allows everyone to approximate the tanking performance in different situations as well as using tools such as Raidbots and Bloodmallet to analyze particular combinations of gear.
